ALLOW YOUR BODY'S INTELLIGENCE TO RELEASE
from PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL STRESS and ANXIETY
TRE® (tension-trauma release exercises) is a somatic process that creates a natural response for your body to remove blocks deep within your cellular level. TRE® is highly effective and therapeutic.
What is TRE®?
TRE® uses a simple technique to open the psoas muscle, the deepest and largest muscle in the body. This powerful muscle holds physical, emotional, and mental stress that we carry in our bodies over the course of our lives. We have all experienced trauma, and there are many forms that we may have come in contact with.
Different types of trauma and stress include:
-
Physical: sports training, surgery, birth, car accidents, falling off your bike, abuse, injury
-
Emotional: relationships, grief/loss, moving homes, divorce
-
Mental: workplace environment, worry, school, lack of control, parents, children, addiction
-
Vicarious: exposure to negative news on TV or social media, exposure to an intense work environment (ie. police officer, firefighter, paramedic)
-
Compassionate: listening to family/friends' problems
-
Generational: trauma that gets passed on culturally, historically, from family and ancestors
What are the benefits of TRE®?
better sleep lowers stress and anxiety
healing of old injuries stronger resilience
less mental and physical tension body awareness
increases range of motion more energy
deep relaxation reduces muscle & back pain
lowers PTSD symptoms less reactivity to situations
release of old patterns & blockages
helps with depression
relief from chronic medical conditions
softens tight fascia calms the nervous system
What to know for your TRE® class
The exercises are gentle, easy to learn, and are simple stretches. Each major muscle group of the lower body are fatigued to induce a natural muscular shaking process called tremoring and myofascial unwinding.
Your TRE® class includes:
-
understanding sensations in your body
-
TRE® exercises
-
up to 20 minutes of tremoring; support and feedback on your tremoring; guided self-regulation
-
post-tremor grounding; rest/integration; debrief; follow-up resources
Typically people experience tremors in their legs, hips, and abdomen during their first session. After practicing TRE® consistently, people experience tremors up the spine, in the cranium, arms and at any point of restriction in the body. Experiences may also have an emotional, mental, or energetic release. For beginners, TRE® is recommended once a week for 15 minutes or less. While the exercises appear simple, it is important to note that 4~6 supervised sessions by a TRE® provider are recommended to ensure that the participant is able to self-regulate, practice safely, and is aware of the sensations experienced in his/her body. TRE® should not be practiced without a TRE® provider if you experience adverse reactions such as: difficulty breathing, feeling overwhelmed (flooding), and numbness in the body (freeze). TRE® is not recommended if you are pregnant, have had a recent injury or surgery, have epilepsy, or untreated high blood pressure.
TRE® has not been evaluated by the US Food & Drug Administration or the American Medical Association. TRE is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Medical advice must only be obtained from a physician or qualified health practitioner. Results may vary between individuals. There are no guarantees, expressed, or implied.
